Description
Pineapple S1 ~ Pineapple x Pineapple
Pineapple is a Sativa dominant plant that family and friends have grown around the Emerald Triangle for the last couple decades. It’s a Beast of a plant growing larger than most everything and reeking of strong Pineapple terps. This is the Pineapple clone I have used in a few hybrids.
Here’s a few quotes about the plant from a 2008 discussion on ICmag.
“Hi y’all, I had a question and was wondering if one of you could help a grower out. This season for my grow up in the emerald triangle, I stopped at a little club in mendo and picked up a few clones: Chem Dawg, GDP, Cheese (uk elite), and the subject of my quandry, the Pineapple.
Anyway, I remember first smoking this strain some 6+ years ago. Or at least what I thought to be the same strain. So suffice it to say when I saw a lone cutting in that mendo club, I nabbed it up. no one working there had ever heard of it before, so I told em a little about my experience with it. Beautiful golden sativa looking buds covered in resin with a narcotic fruity smell and taste. One of my all time favs.
So the season goes by, the plants are grown and harvested, and I am absolutely blown away with this Pineapple cutting. I am now kicking myself more not taking clones, altho there were several very good reasons for this. I didnt have any room for any kind of indoor setup, and since I was new to the area, didnt know anyone with a habitat. Reason number two, I was beginning to actually think it wouldnt finish out due to a very strange growing season we had this year, along with early frost.
So on to my real question. I would like to know if there is anyone out there (most likely from Nor Cal) who grew this cutting, or anyone who may know the breeder/genetic make-up of it, because it is truly amazing, and I dont use that term lightly. I’ve been smoking for a long time, and I’ve smoked a lot of different strains grown in different areas, but this Pineapple was something else.
It grew like bamboo, with beautiful sati dom growth patterns, and picture perfect leaves. Even from an early age, it gave off a pleasant fruity/citrus/spicy aroma whenever it was agitated
Really fruity bud. Thats the only way to describe it. It smells like someone crushed a pineapple in front of your nose when you smell it. It tastes like pineapple candy when smoked, and leaves a sweet subtle aftertaste that stays with you for about a half hour. The buds are golden, with dark orange and yellow pistils, and covered in a splash of clear/cloudy/amber trichs (I took it at about 25/50/25% respectively.)
So if anyone out there has any info on this gem, please please PLEASE let me know. I would very much like to get my hands on this cutting again for breeding and personal use.”
” i know exactly what you speak of i’m from mendo and i know exactly where to get this cutting. I dont know the exact genetic makeup but i can tell you that its small frosty golden nugs that smell amazingly like pineapple, the best part is when you smoke it the smoke smells like burnt pineapple! Killer strain been around for years…”
“This strain was the creme of my crop this year and thanks to y’all I may be able to find it again! Anyone, and I mean anyone, who happens upon this strain should grab it up. It may not be a keeper for everyone, but it definately is for me.”
“i have had pineapple or a cross of it in my outdoor patch every year sense 2000..it grows exactly like u described…all the crosses i have made with it have the Hybrid “vigor”…it makes anything its crossed to a stronger more robust outdoor style plant…grows big and the yields can be crazy…”
